One of the benefits of meeting new people is learning new words. Awesome words. Words like Brinner. It’s really brilliant – Breakfast for Dinner. Brinner.
When I visited Switzerland in October, I got the run down from some of the American expats about what things are difficult or maybe even impossible to find here. One of the items on the list was pancake mix. When you are someone who basically only knows how to make breakfast, this new reality can cause panic. I decided that pancake mix was one of the items I needed to bring with me from the States, and we discussed having Brinner together upon my return.
Fast forward to this weekend. Our plans for sledding fell through, because there isn’t enough snow yet (a shock to everyone getting pounded with snow & ice in the US right now). When I came across a bottle of syrup at the grocery store on Friday night, I realized Brinner was the perfect solution to our spoiled plans.
Sadly, I only took a picture of the table set before everyone arrived, but no pictures of everyone here feasting on eggs, bacon, pancakes (including chocolate chip pancakes), potatoes, fruit, etc. You’ll have to use your imagination, but I promise the table was full of people.
