So many firsts this weekend! A few highlights include:
- My mom and my boss meeting. I thought bibs were only for eating lobster or barbeque ribs, but apparently, it is necessary to wear one when eating steak in Switzerland.
- Spending an afternoon at the thermal baths at Ovronnaz. What incredible scenery! (Photos courtesy of Google.)
- And finally – our first raclette! My friend wanted to try out her new raclette machine tonight, and after our time at the thermal baths, we were more than happy to join in on the fun! We ate it with some bacon (hence, the title of this post) and potatoes – super yummy (despite some of my American friends warning me that it would smell like feet)!
For those of you who are new to raclette like me, it’s a type of cheese and also a Swiss dish. You heat the raclette cheese and scrape off the melted cheese onto your plate to eat with potatoes, meat, or really whatever you like to combine with cheese!
