To me, the word that best sums up Paris at night is magical.
I was there for three days of meetings this week. I didn’t expect to see much of the city, since our schedule was very full. But, the French market surprised us by planning a surprise for our second night – a dinner cruise on the Seine.
This wasn’t my first cruise on the Seine. I visited Paris as a junior in high school, and we took a boat ride on our first day in the city. From what I can remember, jet lag prevailed, and I’m pretty sure I slept throughout the ride instead of taking in the sites. Either way, I think it’s more fun to do the boat ride at night with everything lit up. It’s so beautiful, and Notre Dame is spectacular!
We arrived at the boat dock sooner than anticipated, so the woman in charge decided to have our driver take us up the Champs-Elysees and past the Eiffel Tower before bringing us back. A quick stop for a photo op was another fun surprise!
“Selfies” were a bit of a joke during this trip after a team used one in a presentation on the first day. A group of EIGHT of us attempted to take one with the Eiffel Tower. Success!
