I knew it was bound to happen, but I thought it wouldn’t happen quite so soon.
Today I got my first parking ticket. Sadly, the days of $5-10 parking tickets in St. Louis ($25, if you park in a yellow zone) are long gone. Here, the Police Riviera give 40 CHF ($44.74) tickets. They even put it in a little plastic envelope on rainy days like today. How thoughtful.
My only explanation is that I had to run an errand this morning, and the parking structures at the office were full (‘complet’) when I arrived. I didn’t know where else to park the car, and the street parking I found didn’t have a time limit posted. (Apparently, I’m supposed to know that it is 2 hours max.)
As they say in French…C’est la vie. One thing is for sure, this likely won’t be my last parking ticket.
