I guess it’s unreasonable to expect every day to be as sunny as Thursday. We woke up to a rainy day yesterday. But, that didn’t stop us from getting out in Vevey. And what better way to take in a rainy day than with fondue?!
We went to Les 3 Sifflets for lunch in Old Town and experienced quite a surprise when our fondue arrived…basically, a parade, including music & a Swiss flag.

Next stop was Evian, France for some spa time. Rainy days are perfect for that, right? Sadly, at the border crossing between Switzerland and France, the guard stopped us. In French, he told us that the road was closed. I asked how we were supposed to get there, and he said we would have to take a two hour detour through Geneva. WHAT?!?!? We called the spa to tell them we wouldn’t be able to make our appointment, and they KNEW the road was closed. This would’ve been a helpful piece of information to share when we called to book an appointment. Instead, we opted for an afternoon of games & FRIENDS re-runs.
We ended our day with Chinese food and my Barnacle! It was so fun to have her join us!

As my friends put it, a rainy day in Vevey eating fondue is better than a day in the office any where else. I guess I can’t argue with that.
