Never did I think my “normal” would include visits to Amsterdam, Milano, and München in the same week! But alas, this is the new normal. I headed to Milano on an early train on Wednesday. I spent 2.5 days working with the Italian team. They were great hosts. We had a dinner together the first night, and they chose a trendy new restaurant for us to try. It was only 10 days old! While I have no idea who won gold medals in the Olympics, what the latest viral video is, or what movies are out in the States, I can celebrate being one of the first to enjoy a new spot in Milano! The restaurant is called Carlo E Camilla. It’s owned by Italian masterchef Carlo Cracco.
On day 2, the guys surprised me with gelato from the best Gelateria in Milano (at least what Trip Advisor deems to be the best). I had Stracciatella (my fav!) and Pistachio (the recommendation of the man with the scoop). One word…yummy! It was such a fun treat in the midst of retail visits. This was my third trip to Italy since my move in November, and somehow it was my first gelato! Glad we finally made that right.
When I visited Milano in summer 2003, the Duomo was covered in scaffolding. I knew that I needed to use my free night to go see it uncovered. It really is incredible – particularly lit up at night!
