Don’t worry; I didn’t get on another boat yet. Not even close. But, I did receive an adorable postcard adorned in sailboats from a retired Purina colleague in the States. He lost my email address and sent me some snail mail to tell me so. I LOVE THAT! He loves to sail, so wait until he reads about my first experience! The same day, I also received a sweet note and wedding picture from a dear friend. She got married in mid-July, and because of my intense work travel schedule (coupled with the fact that I already had Jack Johnson concert tickets for the same weekend), I couldn’t attend her wedding. I was SO sad! However, the picture is now on display in my kitchen and makes me smile every time I see it!
Now, this snail mail is plenty to get excited about. But, when it comes on the same day that I am treated to a free burrito at Burrito Brothers in Lausanne…it makes for a REALLY fantastic day! Can you feel my excitement?!
Our burrito meals came with “nachos” (though it would be more accurate to describe them as “chips & salsa”) and a drink. They had at least eight different types of lemonade. We tried one called Cola – Orange – Lemonade. A little strange, but not bad. The restaurant itself was way too small to eat comfortably. And definitely not the kind of place to linger over a meal. It would be better to take the meal to go. But, the fact that I got to enjoy some Mexican food on a leisurely Saturday spent entirely with my Barnacle? Fantastic!
