Today more than made up for yesterday’s drama. (Thank goodness!) For starters, I was able to order a turkey from a butcher in a nearby town for my upcoming “Friend Thanksgiving.” The entire transaction took place in French, and he is going to cook it and slice it for me. All I have to do is pick it up the day of the party! It’s one of my life goals to NEVER have to cook the turkey, so I am BEYOND relieved!
Unlike in the US, turkeys have to be pre-ordered here. It’s not common to cook a whole bird. This reality on adds to my relief of finding this solution!
I spent the rest of the day running errands in the pouring rain preparing for Thanksgiving, since I’m traveling next weekend and then hosting 25 people for dinner the following weekend! But, I can’t complain when running errands means another trip to Aligro!
This evening I went to a “Black and White” themed Apero. It was in honor of two friends who got married in October back in the US. Since most of their Swiss friends couldn’t attend the wedding, they had a celebration here. I met the bride in Connect Group, so of course, we had to snap a photo with the Connect Group ladies!
And after all that, it’s so fun to end the day FaceTiming with friends & family…including my sweet little niece who’s getting bigger and cuter every time we chat!
