Today was another day of saying farewell. First, to the office for the rest of the year. (Don’t worry; no tears were shed.) Secondly, to two colleagues. One was a here for a short 8-month assignment, but he arrived on our team at a critical time for me and was a huge support during one of my largest projects of the year. He is moving to the UK, so I expect our paths to cross again soon. Plus, being from Croatia, he will be a key resource when I finally get around to planning my trip there. I will miss his smile, his laugh, and his positive attitude.
After saying good-bye over pizzas, I headed to a Happy Hour to say good-bye to a fellow American. We met on a sledding adventure earlier this year and celebrated some big holidays together – 4th of July and Friendsgiving. She is a joy, and since she’s moving back to Atlanta, I will likely see her when I visit my family there.
And totally unrelated, when I arrived at the pizza place tonight, they had a HUGE village with oh-so-many figurines set up outside of the restaurant under an awning. It was some combination of amazing / creepy / hilarious. I can’t decide which.
