For those of you not familiar with the concept of Flat Stanley, he is a character in a children’s book. A lot of elementary schools in the US create “flat” students. The students then send the flat character to someone who lives somewhere different than them. The recipient takes pictures of the figure visiting cool places and doing fun things.
This week, I received Flat Jack in the mail. He came to me from St. Louis, Missouri.
I showed him around Vevey, the Nestlé office, and we even tried two new restaurants!
[Welcome to Vevey, Flat Jack!]
[He really liked the mountains!]
[He joined me at the Nestlé office]
[One day, we had burritos for lunch at Comelon Burrito Bar]
[We went on a walk through Old Town]
[Flat Jack liked the crazy artwork around town…giant legs, a huge fork in the lake, and a Charlie Chaplain statue]
[Flat Jack and I enjoyed pizza with a friend at PZ Pizza in Lausanne]
He is now packed up and headed back to St. Louis. I hope he enjoyed his time here as much as I enjoyed having him! I love that he shares my sentiment: “The sun never sets when you’re cool.” Bon voyage, Flat Jack!
