After my team meeting in Tuscany, I took a train to Rome to meet up with a dear Miami friend and his beautiful family for the weekend. Sadly, I took very few pictures. I like to think this is because the weekend was so laid back, and I was less attached to my phone than normal.
They met me at the train station, where their oldest daughter was playing the piano in the terminal. I was so proud! [Photo courtesy of her mama.]
In the evening, my friends drove me up above Rome to a little town called Frascati. We ate at a place in the little piazza overlooking Rome and the sunset. There were still a few empty tables when I took a photo, but everyone of them was full as the evening progressed. Some people were eating at the restaurants, some people brought their own picnic, but so many people were out enjoying a summer evening together!
[This little nugget was my backseat buddy. We held hands for the entire drive.]
On Saturday morning, we met some friends for breakfast, which meant indulging in a beautiful cup of cappuccino!
We had lunch & dinner at their house, and both meals were beautifully served!
In the afternoon, we went into the centre for a bit of shopping, since July is one of the months when big sales are running in Europe! This little one was so happy!
A laid back weekend was just what I needed after so much activity the past few months! It was wonderful to catch up and to spend more time with their little girls.
