I don’t know what it is with me and flat tires, but not even five months later, I’ve had another one! It happened last Friday – at the start of our weekend road trip to Lucerne, no less. (My timing is always Friday night of a weekend road trip! What is up with that?!)
Less than an hour outside of Vevey, I heard a pop followed by a hissing sound…while driving 100 KMH. I realized that it must have been my tire, and quickly pulled off to the side of the road – trying not to panic, since I had three other passengers in the car. Thankfully, one of them was a guy who knows how to change a tire. (At the rate at which I’m finding myself in this situation, I should probably learn how to change them myself!)
We unloaded all of our things from the trunk, and within no time, the spare was on! This earned him Rock Star status for the weekend! I’m so grateful for friends who know how to fix things! We even made it to our dinner reservation on time, which wouldn’t have happened if we would’ve waited for roadside assistance!
Thank goodness the Peugeot comes with a sturdy spare. We drove the whole weekend on it. On Monday, they put new ones on. Yes, I said “ones.” Apparently, you’re not allowed to get just one new tire. You have to get two!
