I haven’t written about my Barnacle in a long time. I’ve missed her A LOT this year, and I was so excited that she planned a European holiday with her mama that included some time in Vevey! Unfortunately, some work travel was planned after she selected her travel dates, and instead of four evenings together, we were only going to have one. Boo!!!
I left the office in the late afternoon, so we could go find the little town Audrey Hepburn called home for roughly 30 years – Tolochenaz, Switzerland. It’s roughly 30 minutes drive from Vevey, and it is TINY and oh-so-quaint! (For the record, I had no idea she lived here until they told me about it!) Of course, we wore Audrey-inspired black dresses for the occasion.
We took photos of the most notable things commemorating Audrey…
[A street sign]
[A bust of Audrey in the town square]
[Audrey’s grave site – one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen!]
[And finally, the house Audrey called home – La Paisible]
We came back to Vevey to meet up with friends for a reunion dinner at our favorite pizza place – L’Armailli. It ended up being just the girls, and it was such a fun evening!
[Super mama – already mastering the art of multi-tasking!]
[The baby whisperer! With a man who ended up being our table’s photographer!]
After dinner, we sat on my terrace for a long time catching up. Of course, I wish we could have more time together, but I’ve learned to embrace whatever time you have, and I loved our evening together! She and her mama have a really fun week planned, and I can’t wait to hear all about it!
