I have a friend who says her husband has an alter-ego when he attends a conference. I don’t know if I’m that different during conference weeks, but my extroverted self really enjoys them. I love meeting new people and reconnecting with old ones. She would probably call me “Conference Megan,” if she could see me in action.
Last week, my department hosted all of the Nestlé heads of sales from around the world. How amazing to be in a room with people from every market in the world! It’s one of the things I love most about this company – its size and reach around the globe. I was particularly excited when I realized that I knew about 1/3 of the participants in advance – most of whom I didn’t know prior to taking this job in Vevey. This global role has really expanded my circle, which you know I love!
Between the long days of sessions and a couple of group dinners, I didn’t capture many photos. However, a friend snapped a photo of my 5 minutes of fame on stage…what an honor to present to this audience!
[One of my colleagues (and a consistent blog reader) who helped coordinate this event!]
Despite loving the event, even “Conference Megan” gets tired. In anticipation of this, I planned to take an extra long weekend after the event to recharge my batteries.
