My first day back to work after the long weekend in Italy came with a surprise. I found out I needed to fly to London three days later to present at an event at our UK office.
It just so happened that I got to travel with a fellow American. We flew out on a Sunday to have dinner with the leaders of the event. I always love when local teams take us somewhere unique. This team picked a pub called The Red Barn, and it was amazing! Incredibly cozy interior coupled with great food (can you say Sunday Roast?) – a great combination.
The next day was Digital Day at the UK office…with more than 200 local participants and many more logging in virtually. It was a high-energy environment, and most of their digital partners had interactive booths set up in support of the event.
One partner had a ball pit in the lobby. It was to be part of a game throughout the day. I don’t remember who talked about getting in first, but before I knew it, my travel partner / fellow guest speaker and I had jumped into the ball pit! First thing in the morning. Much to the shock of our hosts!
I presented as part of the day, and two colleagues sent pictures – one from the front row and one from her computer while watching remotely.
