I don’t have plans to go back to school, but thanks to Nestlé, I got to spend a week with some professors and executive coaches from the London Business School last week. They led the Nestlé Leadership Program at our training facility, which is roughly 30 minutes west of of London, near Maidenhead.
The program was excellent. Part of it was with the total group of 30-35 participants, while part of it was conducted in small groups – each led by an executive coach. There were tons of reports generated by the pre-work that helped me better understand my motivational preferences, my work styles, and my strengths & weaknesses based on feedback from my boss & colleagues.
And finally, the setting was just wonderful. (Even if it felt very, very, VERY remote.) The property is beautiful, the staff took good care of us, and the food…well, let’s just say that we had three meals a day on the premises, and two of those were a multi-course affair. It was all delicious!
I have two follow-up sessions with my executive coach in the next six months to discuss the progress I’m making on my Action Plan to further develop my leadership skills. Last week was a reminder of how much I appreciate working for a company that invests in my development. Plus, it’s fun to say that I’ve attended a program through the London Business School!
