I’ve heard about Trunk or Treat in the U.S. – always being held at a church. Last night, I experienced it for the first time. One of the international schools had a Trunk or Treat event, and my friends volunteered to decorate their car. They forgot that it would be hard to man the car and take their girls around to all of the cars, so I took them around to play games, do activities, and get candy.
I know how complicated it is to find the props for themed events and activities here, so I was really impressed with what these parents and teachers came up with!
The cars were decorated and most had an activity involved before handing candy out…trivia, pin the nose on Olaf, tattoos, bobbing for apples, throwing balls (or in one case, clementines) in baskets, bowling with a pumpkin to roll over ghosts (made of toilet paper rolls), reaching into a box to identify the object inside, icing Halloween shaped sugar cookies…so much creativity!!!
So happy I could play along with something that felt very American. I didn’t take a picture, but I was rocking cat ears, light up jack-o-lantern earrings, and an orange & black outfit. Happy Halloween!!!
