After working in California, I was headed to St. Louis. I think I only told four people that I would be in town, since I was on a mission and unable to make the rounds. However, I couldn’t resist sneaking in some special dinners!
The day of my arrival was the birthday of a dear friend (and my former cubemate!). I arranged with her husband to meet them at one of her favorite restaurants, and while she guessed that I was the surprise guest before arriving at the restaurant, it was still so fun to celebrate in person with her!
Some of my very dear friends moved from Vevey to St. Louis last year, so we had a mini Vevey reunion over dinner one night. It was so wonderful to reminisce and hear about how they are enjoying St. Louis.
Switzerland doesn’t do many cupcakes, so a celebratory one at The Cup (my favorite!!) was in order before leaving town.
Pi Pizzeria is another favorite, and another dear friend was more than happy to enjoy some pizza with me! So much laughter catching up with her! (I also totally shocked some other friends who happened to be eating in the same restaurant. They didn’t know I was in town, and we just happened to see that they left their pizza leftovers on their table. I chased them down for a very loud “hello.”)
After St. Louis, I was headed to Nashville for a weekend with my mama. On the way, we stopped to see one of my former college roommates. She had her second baby more than one year ago, but this is the first I was able to meet him!
I did, however, have to take some pictures of the place we had BBQ. The south is a wonderful place!
This was an incredibly productive week, which I can tell you more about later. I’m glad that I was able to catch up with some wonderful friends in the midst of a busy schedule. I’m also glad that I remained stealth while I was there.
