Today was a big day. I went to Vevey City Hall to announce my departure from Switzerland. I’ll share more details in time, but the short story is that I am moving back to St. Louis, Missouri at the end of March. It’s for an exciting professional opportunity at Nestle Purina Headquarters (where I was working before taking this expat assignment in Vevey). However, it’s very bittersweet personally. I am thrilled to be near my friends and family in the US, but I am also very sad to be leaving such a beautiful place and the amazing friends I’ve made here.
I had to get a notarized form (better known as an “Attestation” around here) that says I’m leaving the country in order to cancel things like internet, insurance, and electricity. They are serious about their paperwork in this country – even to the very end of your stay!
Don’t worry – there will be several more adventures between now and the time I leave. And for those wondering what will happen to the blog when this adventure ends…well, let’s just say I’m not sure yet. Stay tuned to find out!
