Last weekend was Moving Weekend. And Mother’s Day weekend. My mama offered to come help with move-in, so we got to spend the weekend together. Not quite as enjoyable as Mother’s Day in Ireland last year, but we still squeezed in some fun in the midst of A LOT of work!
I was so happy to see my container pull up to my building. And I was even happier to find out that just about everything made it without casualty.
Of course, when the hockey playoffs are happening, you have to stop unpacking boxes in order to go to a game. Unfortunately, the Blues didn’t pull off a victory, but we still enjoyed the game and the really great seats!
In the four days my mom was here, we unpacked all of the boxes (with some help from the movers) and found a home for everything. We even tackled hanging the “big” stuff on the walls. Several other items are currently being framed, so some of the walls are still a little bare.
The B&B is back in business! My first visitors are coming in the middle of next month. I can’t offer you a stunning view of the mountains and the lake anymore, but I can offer you a pool and proximity to some fun St. Louis activities.
[I have significantly less storage space here, which means the kiddie table from my first Friendsgiving has to live in the living area. I feel like I’m probably the only single, kidless adult rocking a kiddie table in the living room. I hope this gives me some kind of super aunt status!]
A big MERCI BEAUCOUP to my mama for all of her hard work and patience during moving weekend. I made sure to take her to her favorite waffle place and out for Jeni’s Ice Cream at the end of the weekend. Can you believe she’s helped with all 11 of my moves in the past 14 years?! I am so grateful for her.
