When I visited my friend in Chicago over 4th of July weekend, she introduced me to what she claimed to be the best reading chair…EVER. I climbed in to try it out and immediately agreed with her! I vowed that when I had a space for it, I would buy it. After all, she had searched high and low to find the perfect one, so I didn’t need to do the leg work!
When I was debating what I wanted to do with the top floor of my new townhome, I found myself looking for an option for a nook. So, of course, I opted to fill the space with the reading chair. (I keep calling it a chair, but according to Crate & Barrel, it’s really a chaise – part of what makes it so wonderful!)
It arrived a couple of months ago, and I promptly found accent pillows, a super soft throw blanket (no longer on sale, but she calls them the Softest Throws, which seems appropriate for the coziest chaise), a side table, and a bin to hold a quilt made by my great-grandmother. Now the final corner in the house is complete! If you want to come over to curl up with a good book, you’re always welcome. Though, I will warn you that you might not get very far. The comfort of the chaise threatens to lull you to sleep quickly.
