The colors of fall have been beautiful this year, and my November weekends have given me opportunity to be outside enjoying them.
A couple of weeks ago, a friend from St. Louis (who recently moved to San Francisco!) was in town for work. I kept wanting to go to a temporary art exhibit in Martigny, and it was the perfect opportunity to do so! Another colleague from work joined us, too.
Every year, a different exhibit is featured at Fondation Pierre Gianadda, and this year, it was Rodin and Giacometti (a Swiss sculptor). There is also a beautiful sculpture park outside of the museum, plus an old car exhibit in the basement (which seems a bit out of place, but is very cool).
These are the most unusual ducks I’ve ever seen!
My friend noticed that these are the same sheep sculptures by François-Xavier Lalanne as you can find in the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis!
It was such a nice afternoon!
Another weekend was a bit of a Saturday day ‘o fun with some girlfriends from my Connect Group. We went to a women’s breakfast event in Lausanne for a delicious brunch at a nice hotel, then we went for a hike, and finally, we had a dinner at my house.
We hiked Gorges du Chauderon from Montreux to Les Avants, which was roughly six miles and 1,300 feet elevation gain. I was so amazed that this exotic-looking place was just a short walk from my house! I had no idea!!
And because chili and cornbread scream fall, I made both for us to enjoy after our hike!
Fun fall weekends are simply the best!
