Two more American friends and their adorable baby girl are moving back to the US today. First it was the Grill Master, and now two fellow adventurers. I met the two of them almost two years ago – shortly after they arrived in Switzerland. We met at a happy hour and again at the Cully Jazz Festival. Within no time, they were part of our expat family.
We traveled to Istanbul, Christmas markets in Strasbourg & Colmar, Egypt, and Mexico together, and we experienced some really incredible Swiss events, like the World Championship of Tracassets and Desalpes. We swapped loads of travel tips, itineraries, and recommendations as we criss-crossed Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.
They are some of my most patriotic friends, and their red, white & blue came out at World Cup matches and Fourth of July parties…both years! They’re also super creative, so it’s fun to celebrate Halloween with them…or even themed birthday parties! We celebrated Friendsgiving together last year, and in the spring, we had a baby celebration in honor of their little girl – just before she made her arrival! We worked together, played together, and ate so many meals together be it BBQ’s, brinners, birthdays, lunches, or taco nights.
I will miss adventuring with them, but trust there will be rendezvous in our future. Best of luck in San Diego! Enjoy the sunshine!
